Biography

Andrea Ornelas is a dedicated wife and mother of five who serves as the Assistant Political Director for LIUNA Local 242. She began her career in construction in 2016 after graduating from the ANEW program and has since become a strong advocate for workers and expanded access to careers in the trades.

Andrea serves on the LIUNA 242 Executive Board, multiple Career and Technical Education (CTE) boards, the Washington State Building Trades Diversity Committee, and the Board of BuildUp, whose mission is to support apprentices through wraparound services that promote retention, success, and long-term careers in the building trades. Her passion centers on ensuring students and all who are interested in the trades have clear pathways, resources, and opportunities to succeed.
