Biography

Nkosa Barrett is a Local Union No. 1 Plumber and Pipe fitter out of NYC, and workforce development leader committed to expanding opportunity for men and women through the building trades.

In her role with Careers in Construction, she supports men and women in accessing union careers that offer economic stability and long-term growth. Her previous work with Chicago Women in Trades (National Center) focused on strengthening recruitment and retention pathways nationwide.

Grounded in Bronx-based community organizing, Nkosa brings a powerful perspective on leadership, equity, and the belief that when women build infrastructure, they also build stronger futures.
