Kairie Pierce is a seasoned professional dedicated to shaping the landscape of workforce development and innovation. With a career spanning over three decades, Kairie has left an indelible mark on the labor and education sectors, championing initiatives that bridge the gap between industry needs and workforce capabilities.

In February 2024, Kairie embarked on a new chapter of her career, joining the Department of Commerce as the Innovation Workforce Sector Lead. In this role, she brings her wealth of experience and strategic vision to drive initiatives that foster innovation and bolster the workforce across various industries.

Prior to her current role, Kairie served as the Lead Workforce Development Director for the Washington State Labor Council (WSLC), AFL-CIO. Over her 33-year tenure with WSLC, she held diverse roles, each marked by her commitment to empowering workers and advancing educational opportunities.

Today, Kairie's current position represents the culmination of her lifelong commitment to advancing registered apprenticeship programs and workforce education. With her unique blend of expertise, passion, and unwavering dedication, she continues to inspire and lead efforts that shape the future of workforce development and innovation.
